How to Buy NFTs on Opensea (Coinbase guide)

Hey guys, so here is a comprehensive guide on how to buy your favourite NFT’s on Opensea. For this guide we will obviously be using Metabrics.

Using Coinbase:

1. Download Coinbase on any device which is one of the most downloaded apps, due to its popularity and ease of use. You will also get a FREE $10 Bitcoin.
2. Set up your account. This will require you to put in your name and other details, like your email address and password to login.
3. Write down the private key you are presented, which will be a 12-word phrase. Please DO NOT share this with anyone and store this safely.
4. Transfer existing crypto to the wallet or buy with Euros, Dollars, or Pounds.
5. The most common crypto used here is ETH.

Once your ETH is purchased on Coinbase, you can then buy NFTs on Opensea.

1. Go to the Opensea website.
2. In the top right corner of the screen, you should see the wallet symbol.
3. Connect your wallet (Coinbase one)
4. You should be directed to a profile page now, showing your tokens and collections. You can edit your name here if you wish.
5. You may be prompted to pass some security questions and agreements here too. Choose a username and add your email address.
6. Search for your favourite NFT Project and click buy now.
7. You will then receive the following screens.

Check the circle at the bottom.

8. You will then meet the following screen. Now here you can see a polygon symbol (the diamond). To reduce your fees we have utilised polygon on ETH. But as coinbase does not allow you to purchase that, you will have to convert it on the next step. It’s easy!

9. Convert, follow the next steps and buy :)

10. Please note the fees for ETH do not go to us as Metabrics owners. This sadly is part and parcel of the game of NFTs and gas fees will always exist. Hopefully in the next few years, ETH 2.0 will reduce these fees, but it is a necessary step that needs to be done that does not come to us.

11. Your NFT should now be in your wallet :)
